Many people say that "money is ultimate motivator" Where they mean that money can drive anyone to do anything for the right price. Is that true that there is no power greater than that?
American writer, futurist and businessman - Alvin Toffler (1928 - 2016) known for his works discussing modern technologies including the digital revolution and the communication revolution with emphasis on their effects on culture world wide.
Toffler, A writer of two best selling books. His first book entitled FUTURE SHOCK Published in 1970 discussed on what happens to a society when changes occur too fast, which results in social confusion and normal decision making process breaking down.
Toffler's second book was POWER SHIFT - knowledge, wealth and violence at the edge of the 21st century, Published in 1990. In this book, Toffler describes three types of power:
1. Force (physical power). This power involve muscles and it is highly used by non - intellectual people. Example of this power is military power.
2. Wealth (Economic power). This is the power arose after the discovery of money. Money can buy the physical power, It's highly used by rich people to drive anything for the right price. Always the one who owns physical power can work for the one who owns economic power.
3.Knowledge (The power of information). This power involves the use of mind. With the power of right information you can overcome someone else's wealth or their ability to use force. Information is the true driving force behind almost all of the events that happens in the world. Without the knowledge of wealth to be gained there is no driving force behind money. Lack of information can lead make decisions that lead to your fall.
In this part I want you to understand the uniqueness of the power of information and it's importance to the society if it is used in the right way.
The power of information is unique and important in the following ways;
1. Information is virtually inexhaustible.
Unlike wealth which was originally based on land ownership and nowadays is still based on ownership of finite resources cars, houses and money, the pool of potential knowledge is virtually inexhaustible.
2. Information is valuable for trade when you have it and someone else wants it.
The information remains valuable unless that information becomes known to others or if you lose exclusive control of it. Then it becomes nearly worthless to you for trade. However, it still remains useful to you for other things.
3.Information, Unlike goods cost nothing to move around.
Information lack physical shape or shape since its found in the mind of human being, therefore the movement of man might be the movement of information.
4.Information is effectively an infinite resource.
It can be shared and then used over and over again without exhaustion.
5. Information can become worthless as a result of some new information that supersedes or invalidate it. That doesn't happen with money except in cases of total economic collapse.
The uniqueness of information as explained above can show why it is said that "information is power, but this remains just partially correct if you do nothing with that information even if you have all the information in the world renders useless.
When we have information, we must use it in the way that benefits us the most. In turn when we share that information, we benefit others so that they can also use information to benefit themselves the most.
For public safety, It is this sharing of information that creates not only individual benefit but benefit for the entire community. This is "power of one to the benefit of many". Robin Morgan said "knowledge is power, information is power. The secreting or hoarding of knowledge or information may be an act of tyranny camouflaged as humility"
Utilizing the internet allows for efficient transfer of knowledge and also empowers those that receives it to create the benefit they need.
With knowledge you can control your own destiny, career and money. Knowledge gives you the power of decisions making because of the information you have decision can be made. The former chief secretary of United Nations, The late Kofi Anani said "Knowledge is power, Information is premise of progress in every society, in every family".
In order to arrive at the real you you must have enough information about where you came from, where you are going and the environment surrounding you plus the way you handle disappointment along the way.

J Abdul kalam, An Indian scientist and politician who played a leading role in the development of India's missile and nuclear weapons programs, and the 11th president of India from 2002 to 2007, He said "Never stop fighting until you arrive at your destined place, that is, the unique you. Have an aim in life, continuously acquire knowledge, work hard and have perseverance to realize the great life".
One thing to take note here is "continuously acquire knowledge" And here you will realize the power of information.
